On Friday the 7th of August, it was Jeans for Genes Day; Buttercups Childcare joined this wonderful cause to raise awareness of genetic diseases.
It was lovely to see our children and Early Childhood Educators wearing their best denim jeans. Throughout the day Buttercups children participated in a variety of different experiences and learned about the importance of sharing and giving.
We were also able to raise funds with gold coin donations from our beautiful parents and educators. Thank you everyone for your donation; we raised $50. The money raised will go on to help scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures for sick children, to give every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
1 in 20 children faces a birth defect or genetic disease. Finding treatments and cures can only come from vital research. Children’s Medical Research Institute was the first organisation in Australia dedicated to improving children’s health through research.
Please visit their website if you’d like to donate to their very worthy cause. https://www2.jeansforgenes.org.au/new/
