On Wednesday, the 19th of May Buttercups Childcare and Early Learning Centre was excited to participate in ⭐️National Simultaneous Story Time⭐️!
Every year a picture book , written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously around Australia as part of Australia’s Library and Information Week. This year’s story, ‘Give Me Some Space’ written and illustrated by Philip Bunting was also read by NASA astronauts from the International Space Station !
Our Kindergarten children listened to the story read by our Early Childhood Teacher and further explored their interest in space and even had a go at building their own rocket. This event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes and key learning areas.
