Meet Kerri
Manager, Buttercups Childcare Beechboro/Hull Park
Educating and caring for young children has been my passion for over 30 years. I believe that all children are entitled to quality education and care and aim to provide an environment where, not only the children gain a sense of belonging, but also their families gain a sense of belonging.
My style of teaching stems from the theoretical perspectives of Jean Piaget, Erik Erickson, Albert Bandura, Abraham Maslow and my two personal favourites, Maria Montessori and Loris Malaguzzi. I believe children learn best by being an active participant in their learning and aim to provide a learning environment inclusive of their cultural background, interests, needs and wants.
Children are like sponges – eager to soak up every learning opportunity that are given to them. I will ensure that I provide them with the opportunities to help them to grow in their knowledge and developmental areas so they can be confident individuals ready for the world ahead of them.

Facilities
Buttercups Childcare and Early Learning Centre Beechboro (Hull Park) is proud to have received an Exceeding Rating in January 2020. This involved the centre and our experienced team of educators establishing and embedding a thorough understanding of the National Quality Standard and demonstrating the ongoing ability to exceed the required expectations in at least 4 of the 7 quality areas.
Our beautiful purpose-built centre which comprises of 3 large indoor play spaces that each overlook our
stunning nature inspired outdoor playground through the floor to ceiling windows.
Our large outdoor nature inspired playground comprises of 2 areas, one being an enormous play space where the children from all age groupings across the centre can safely interact with each other. Our educators utilise this outdoor area as an opportunity to scaffold the children’s individual social and emotional development by supporting the ongoing engagement between the children of varying ages and abilities. This mixed age space also allows the opportunity for siblings to spend time together across the day.
Our outdoor space also has a smaller enclosed area that is mainly utilised by the children in the younger age grouping but the older aged children may use this space for specific programmed experiences or small outside projects.
The children at Buttercups Beechboro (Hull Park) have the opportunity daily to participate in a flexible indoor/outdoor program with large shade sails covering the outdoor play space in the warmer months and wet weather jumpsuits available for all children during the wetter months.
Babies – Poppy Room
Our Poppy room provides care for up to 16 children between 6 weeks and 2 years of age. Our experienced educators pride themselves on providing a home away from home by offering a safe, stimulating, nurturing environment and developing strong connections with each individual child and their families. The room is bright and airy and self-contained with a separate sleep/ cot room, changing room and meal prep area. Educators work in partnership with families to maintain child’s individual routines to ensure consistency between home and the Centre.
The educators provide a child lead, play-based program that scaffolds each child’s individual learning and development in line with the National Quality Framework (Early Years Learning Framework) with a focus on sensory exploration and open-ended resources and play spaces.
Toddlers – Tulip Room
Our Tulip room caters for up to 25 children between 2 years to 3 years of age.
This fast-paced room encourages a love of learning by providing multiple opportunities throughout the day to explore different activities, thought-provoking experiences and provocations that give the children the opportunity to explore their environments at their own pace. The educators work with the children to scaffold their individual learning and development across all 5 areas in the Early Years Leaning Framework. The children are offered a free flow program both indoor and outdoor that provides them with the opportunity to be autonomous in their learning throughout the day simultaneously.
Kindy – Daffodil Room

Our kindy children are seen as strong, independent learners and their sense of curiosity and understanding of the world is scaffolded by our educators. Opportunity are made available to the children daily to both self- select resources and activities in line with their individual interests as well as share and work alongside their peers and educators to co-program and join in group activities and experiences.
