The Buttercups Difference

A Day At Buttercups

We offer a structured, nurturing program to foster your child’s development. Our experienced educators empower children to lead their own learning through play. Tailored to each stage, our activity rooms, named after botanicals, create a stimulating environment for growth at your child’s pace.

Support Your Child’s Growth

A Nurturing Daily Routine

At Buttercups, we know how important a nurturing routine is for your child’s development. Predictable daily rhythms provide security and comfort, helping children focus on being curious, imaginative, and playful.

Our tailored routines ensure every child feels safe and supported while giving them the freedom to explore and grow at their own pace. We adapt to each child’s unique needs, especially during key moments like sleep and meal times, to make every day a positive experience.

Our day starts with a warm welcome and free play, giving children time to settle in and interact with their peers.

Early arrivals enjoy a healthy breakfast, while morning tea features fresh seasonal fruit prepared by our food coordinator.

Play is central to our routine, with indoor and outdoor activities that encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.

Lunchtime is a calm moment to enjoy a nutritious menu with grains, proteins, and vegetables.

After lunch, babies rest in a quiet, monitored space designed to help them feel safe and secure.

Older children enjoy personalised quiet activities, offering a relaxing alternative to naptime.

Afternoon tea provides an energy boost, preparing children for more engaging activities.

We end the day with story-time and calm indoor play, helping children wind down before heading home.

FAQ

Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our childcare education approach
Does the centre follow a curriculum?

At Buttercups Childcare, our childcare education approach is centred around the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which guides our curriculum and focuses on learning through play. This framework supports your child’s development and wellbeing from birth to age five, ensuring they are well-prepared for school. Our dedicated educators tailor learning experiences to each child’s individual needs and interests, providing a balanced and engaging curriculum that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.

Do you provide a kindergarten or 3-year-old program?

Yes, we do! Our experienced educators design tailored learning experiences for each age group, focusing on developing key skills in preparation for school. Even if your child has not attended a centre in their younger years, they can be enrolled in our program for pre-kindy aged children. The Kindy’s school readiness program is delivered by an Early Childhood Teacher and supports children’s academic, social, and emotional development as they transition into school. We prioritise each child’s unique needs, nurturing their love of learning in a caring and supportive environment.

How will I know what my child has done during the day at the centre?

At Buttercups, we believe in keeping you connected to your child’s daily experiences. Through our Xplor and OWNA apps, you’ll receive regular updates about your child’s day, including photos, videos, and information on their activities, meals, sleep times, and any significant milestones. These apps provide a comprehensive view of your child’s learning and development, so you never miss a moment. You can also engage directly with our educators to discuss your child’s progress and any key moments from their day.

How does Handover Communication work?

Information is relayed between educators and carers throughout the day and will be readily available to you at time of pick up to ensure you have the complete picture of your child’s day.

Can I provide my child with their own food?

Unfortunately, we do not allow families to provide their children with their own food. Due to the allergies within our Centres, we have a food coordinator that will prepare all meals for the children. Our menu caters for dietary requirements, food allergies, and food requests. Please talk to the Centre Manager on how the Centre will support your child.

Do you follow Sun Safety guidelines?

We follow the National SunSmart Early Childhood Program all year round to ensure the health and safety of children at all times. We check the UV index daily and schedule outdoor activities when it’s safe. Our outdoor area has shade for play, and we regularly assess the safety of the play space and equipment. Both children and educators must wear hats and appropriate clothing, including footwear, when outside. Educators will model sun-safe behaviour and encourage children to avoid excessive sun exposure.
