On Wednesday, the 19th of May Buttercups Childcare and Early Learning Centre was excited to participate in ⭐️National Simultaneous Story Time⭐️!
Every year a picture book 📖, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously around Australia 🌏 as part of Australia’s Library and Information Week. This year’s story, ‘Give Me Some Space’ 🪐 written and illustrated by Philip Bunting was also read by NASA astronauts from the International Space Station 🌟!
Our Kindergarten children listened to the story read by our Early Childhood Teacher and further explored their interest in space and even had a go at building their own rocket. This event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes and key learning areas.
